Caucasian Turs Caucasian Tur can easily climb high rocks, jump across bottomless abyss and go down from the dizzy heights. There are 2 subspecies of this wild goat: a- Capra cylindricornis (East-caucasian) b- Capra caucasica (West-caucasian) These sub-species live only in this Caucasian region. This animal has perfect eyes and a great sense of smell, and that’s why it is not so easy to come near to the flock. Thus, the best time to harvest a tur is in the morning. Therefore hunters go to the mountains for several days. They stay for a night in a tent or in a sheep-fold or in a remote hunting lodge, and early in the morning start hunting. Hunting takes places on steep rocky slopes of difficult access at the height of 2000-3700 meters about sea level, that’s why the use of horses is not always possible and hunters have to climb the mountains to get near the tur. But all the difficulties of mountains hunting can be compensated by a gorgeous trophy! Breathtaking alpine scenery of snow capped mountains, absolutely pure air and food made on fire with crystal-clear mountainous water will make the trip unforgettable. Meet a challenge, gain new experience in mountainous hunting and reap the reward – a great trophy of tur! |
